Our Service

Our Services

Blisss Supports is a not-for-profit organisation promoting the independence, inclusion and
wellbeing of people with care and support needs.

Person-centred care and support is an approach that places the individual at the heart of everything we do. It recognises that every person is unique, with their own values, preferences, life experiences, strengths, and goals. Rather than focusing solely on needs or diagnoses, person-centred care supports people to live meaningful, independent, and fulfilling lives on their own terms.

This approach is built on dignity, respect, compassion, and partnership. Individuals are actively involved in decisions about their care and support, and their voices are listened to and valued at every stage.

Our Commitment to Person-Centred Care

We are committed to delivering care and support that is tailored to each individual. We believe that people are experts in their own lives, and our role is to work alongside them—supporting choice, independence, and control.

Our services are designed to:

  • Empower individuals to make informed decisions

  • Respect personal preferences, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds

  • Promote independence and wellbeing

  • Build trusting and meaningful relationships

  • Adapt support as needs and circumstances change

Key Principles of Person-Centred Care

1. Respect and Dignity

We treat everyone with respect, valuing their individuality, privacy, and personal boundaries. Care is delivered in a way that maintains dignity and promotes self-worth at all times.

2. Choice and Control

Individuals are supported to make choices about their care, daily routines, and lifestyle. Where possible, they remain in control of decisions that affect their lives, including how, when, and by whom support is provided.

3. Partnership and Collaboration

Care is a partnership between the individual, their family or advocates (where appropriate), and our care team. We listen carefully, communicate openly, and work together to achieve shared goals.

4. Holistic Support

We recognise that wellbeing is more than physical health. Our support considers emotional, social, psychological, cultural, and spiritual needs, helping individuals achieve a balanced and fulfilling life.

5. Independence and Empowerment

We focus on what people can do, not just what they need help with. By building on strengths and abilities, we encourage independence, confidence, and personal growth.

How We Deliver Person-Centred Support

Individualised Care Planning

Each person receives a personalised care and support plan that reflects their needs, goals, preferences, and aspirations. Plans are developed collaboratively and reviewed regularly to ensure they remain relevant and effective.

Flexible and Responsive Care

We understand that needs can change over time. Our support is flexible and responsive, adapting to changes in health, circumstances, or personal wishes.

Skilled and Compassionate Staff

Our staff are carefully selected and trained to deliver person-centred care with empathy, professionalism, and respect. They take the time to build positive relationships and understand what matters most to each individual.

Ongoing Communication

Open and honest communication is central to person-centred care. We encourage feedback and actively listen to ensure services continue to meet expectations and improve over time.

Benefits of Person-Centred Care

Person-centred care and support can lead to:

  • Improved wellbeing and quality of life

  • Greater confidence and independence

  • Stronger relationships and trust

  • Increased satisfaction with care and support

  • Better outcomes that reflect what truly matters to the individual

Putting People First

At the heart of our approach is a simple belief: people come first. By seeing each person as an individual and supporting them in a way that respects their choices and values, we create care experiences that are not only effective, but meaningful.

Person-centred care is not just what we do—it is how we do it, every day.
